Sandani Samarajeewa

Dr. Sandani Samarajeewa is a semiconductor research and development expert with over a decade of experience in contact and backend-of-line (BEOL) process integration. Most recently, she served as a Senior Program Manager at the National Center for the Advancement of Semiconductor Technology (Natcast) R&D office, where she led the on-die interconnects program, driving innovation in novel materials and fostering collaboration between academia and industry.

Previously at Intel Corporation, Sandani was an Engineering Group Leader for backend interconnect technology development. She led multiple teams from early development to high volume manufacturing of Intel 7 and played a key role in defining the interconnect technology roadmap for next-generation Intel 10A.

Her expertise spans chemistry, process engineering, etch and global supply chain management. Sandani is a recipient of Intel’s multiple Technology Development Excellence Awards in recognition of her contributions to innovation and process leadership. She is also an IEEE invited speaker for IRDS INC and WMED chapters.

She earned her Ph.D. in Polymer (Organic) Chemistry from Texas A&M University. Her doctoral research has been published in leading scientific journals and has accumulated over 800 citations to date.
